The Secrets to Car Soundproofing

1) Can a car be completely soundproofed?
No, not even the most expensive cars are!
a) Firstly, safety is an issue. You need to be aware of what is around you.
b) It would be NO FUN driving fast then. Nobody likes watching a silent movie.

2) If that is the case, what can I expect when I sound-proof my car?
Certain Toyota and Lexus models are essentially the same car but the level of refinement in the Lexus is simply amazing. It is not just the superior soundproofing alone but the OVERALL luxurious feel and ride comfort. The secret is their total Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) package. Every aspect from the Chassis onwards is treated in these luxury cars to deliver the most comfortable and refined ride. 3) What is the best car Soundproofing material or brand?
Unfortunately, there is no best product. Noise in the car is too wide band and diverse for any single product/ material to be completely effective. We choose various products from around the world for best results. Our philosophy is not to just “soundproof” alone but to improve the overall NVH. Our recipe is simple. To enjoy the best results, we need a combo of Hard and Soft materials, strategically applied, to strengthen, damp, absorb, block and seal noise. We call this our Yin and Yang formula.

5) Do you use any Instruments to test?
We use both Sound Pressure Level (SPL) and Real Time Analyzer (RTA) to measure noise levels and the different frequencies. This will then help us accurately identify the best remedy.

6) Are Soundproofing materials heavy?
Yes. Damping mats needs mass to damp vibrations. However, with our proprietary technology, we only use heavy mats for specific areas. Our popular Silver SP package weighs a mere 7.5kg.

7) Can I soundproof only a specific area to eliminate certain noise?
No. The human ear is a very naughty and a sensitive instrument. If you reduce or eliminate a particular noise, other noises will suddenly become more obvious. To enjoy the desired results, you MUST treat the car as a whole. Our NVH Solutions are always in packages.

8) Which would be the best “Bang for Buck” area to start with?
Always start with the doors. Treating the thin door panels will help significantly reduce external traffic, tire and road and even engine noise. Our Door SP packages with GSI (USA) mats are a fantastic cure. Bonus here, your car suddenly becomes more "expensive" with a nice solid clunk when you close the door

9) Can you reduce the irritating Tires and Road noise?
This problem is the most difficult to overcome as the noise generated from tires and road is so wide ranging. The tire’s contact patch creates a low to mid frequency rumble, around 150Hz while the wind noise from the grooves is much higher at the 4kHhz region. After extensive R & D, Our EU sourced Roar Killer package is THE most effective solution. Rave reviews from our Honda Civic club boys with some claiming up to 60% improvement even with ultra high performance sports tires.. Treats all 4 wheel arches. 10) Any way to get rid of the cheap “Attap” roof noise when it rains?
Getting to be a common problem as more manufacturers are cutting cost. Our Roof SP package is a firm favorite even with our Singapore customers. Makes the car feel like a million bucks when it rains. You will also enjoy reduced heat from the roof as well making the cabin even more comfortable when it is not raining!.

11) I hear a lot of wind noise. Any cure?
The problem since Henry Ford started mass production..We can offer significant improvements with Roar Killer, Viva door treatment, AutoFoam A,B C pillars, Door SP pack. Makes 150km feel like 100km/h. To totally eliminate…get rid of the wing mirrors or get ear plugs.

12) Do I still need extra Soundproofing for my new Mercedes?
Well, it depends on how luxurious you want your car to be. Mercedes have MayBach. Toyota has Lexus. Honda has Acura. Bring it to next level! Car manufacturers are cutting costs. All cars will benefit significantly from extra Soundproofing and NVH works. For the record, we have treated S classes, 7 series, Aston Martin with great success.

13) Would Soundproofing affect my new car's warranty?
